The cooking & pasteurization of pre-packed (plastic bags or trays) food represents a revolution for the food industry. According to specialized institutions this technology provides significant prospects for development because it allows simultaneous cooking and pasteurization of food in very short time.


There are important advantages such as:
  • Treatment time of 3 to 4 times faster than conventional treatment processes;
  • Increased expiry dates for the treated products;
  • An excellent organoleptic quality, similar to that of natural products.

SAIREM has patented a process for the cooking/pasteurization of pre-packed food using microwaves.

This technique can be applied using both industrial microwave frequencies, i.e. 915 MHz and 2450 MHz.
