Microwave and radio frequency test centers
Our microwave and radio frequency test centers in France and in the United States serve as both validation platforms for new concepts and optimization labs for customer applications.
Equipped with more than 20 different systems, these facilities enable testing, development, and validation before scaling up to full industrial production.
Accessible to both our internal teams and our customers, this hands-on approach reduces uncertainty and strengthens confidence in your investment.
A lab fully integrated with R&D and engineering
Our 400 m² test centers in France and in Atlanta are fully integrated into Sairem’s R&D and engineering teams, ensuring direct interaction between experimentation, process development, and industrial design.
Beyond our engineering expertise, Sairem provides access to testing systems, covering laboratory, pilot, and pre-industrial scales.
Finding the right frequency for your process
Our test centers stand out for its ability to operate at multiple frequencies. Depending on the application, we determine the most suitable frequency: 13.56 MHz, 27.12 MHz, 915 MHz, 2.45 GHz.
Selecting the right frequency is essential when developing a process. Each material is defined by its permittivity, which determines how it interacts with electromagnetic waves. This property depends not only on the material or product itself, but also on its temperature.
Available equipments
- Batch and continuous microwave ovens
- RF and microwave tunnel systems
- Magnetron-based and solid-state generators
- Plasma reactors and hybrid systems
Beyond standalone systems, our approach also consists in combining technologies when required. Microwave and radio frequency equipment can be efficiently coupled with ultrasound, infrared, steam and hot air, allowing a precise control of heat transfer, mass transfer and reaction kinetics. As a result, hybrid processes can be developed to meet the most demanding performance and product quality objectives.
This wide range of configurations allows customers to reproduce real industrial conditions, compare technologies, and identify the most efficient process architecture for their specific application.
A broad variety of products and materials can be tested, including food products, organic materials, polymers, elastomers, minerals, ceramics and advanced materials.
Process validation under industrial conditions
The objective is to validate new processes under controlled and measurable conditions using advanced testing equipment. Reliable testing requires precise and repeatable measurements.
Our temperature measurement tools include:
- Optical fiber probes
- Infrared cameras
- Pyrometers

From feasibility tests to industrial scale-up
SAIREM’s Test Center supports manufacturers in validating, optimizing and industrializing microwave and radio frequency processes before full-scale production.
Customers can evaluate the technical relevance of microwave and RF technologies within their existing or future processes.
Whether developing a new application, replacing a conventional thermal process, or scaling up an existing solution, our test center ensures:
- Technical feasibility
- Process performance
- Industrial reliability
During testing campaigns, our engineers actively support customers in:
- Defining optimal process parameters
- Evaluating heating uniformity and energy efficiency
- Assessing product quality and functional performance
