PlasmaSpin – Microwave vortex plasma source
An advanced plasma generation system
PlasmaSPin uses waveguide-based electromagnetic surface-wave launchers to sustain plasma columns with microwaves.
It efficiently generates plasma by creating surface waves, ionizing the gas to form plasma.
The PlasmaSpin is a microwave vortex plasma source operating at both low and atmospheric pressure, perfectly suited for Power-to-X applications, gas abatement, and methane pyrolysis.
PlasmaSpin is available at two frequencies to accompany integrators at every stage of their project:
- 2450 MHz version : designed for scientific investigations and process experimentation, enabling researchers to characterize and optimize plasma conditions before scaling up.
- 915 MHz – 100 kW version — a high-power configuration allowing system integrators to run full-scale demonstrations and validate their process before transitioning to industrial deployment.
Pinpoint control and flexibility
Solid-state technology enables precise adjustment of power (1 W steps), frequency tuning (±50 MHz), and optional pulse modulation, allowing full control over the energy delivered to the process.
Advanced process stability
Built-in auto-tuning algorithms continuously minimize reflected power, ensuring stable operation even with varying loads or complex materials.
Safe and reliable operation
With no high voltage and no magnetron, EvoMicro generators offer extended lifetime, enhanced safety, and reduced maintenance requirements.
Easy integration
Compact, single-module design with full connectivity (fieldbus, PLC compatibility) allows seamless integration into laboratory setups or automated industrial systems.
Technical overview of PlasmaSpin, the microwave vortex plasma source
PlasmaSpin 2.45 GHz
This PlasmaSpin is a robust, industrial-grade microwave plasma source designed for both R&D laboratories and continuous industrial operation.
This source generates a stable and uniform plasma column compatible with multiple input gases and powder injection.
Operating at up to 10 kW at 2450 MHz without time limitation, it covers a wide pressure range — from 10⁻¹ mbar up to atmospheric pressure.
At atmospheric pressure, a vortex injection system and a dedicated ignition system ensure reliable operation.
PlasmaSpin 915 — High-Power Microwave Vortex Plasma Source
The PlasmaSpin 915 is a high-power microwave vortex plasma source operating at 915 MHz and designed for industrial-scale applications at atmospheric pressure.
Equipped with a dedicated ignition system, it delivers continuous plasma operation up to 100 kW — making it the preferred solution for energy-intensive processes requiring sustained, stable plasma at large throughput.
Like the PlasmaSpin 2.45 GHz, it is compatible with multiple input gases and scalable through parallel module installation, making it directly suited for Power-to-X, methane pyrolysis (carbon black and hydrogen production), and industrial gas abatement applications.
Our experts can help you to define or improve your process.
